Evidence-based, Practical & Strategic ImplementationThis is a featured page

This section presents background information on implementation of prevention programs. Readers are encouraged to add their comments, additions and edits to the pages.

These papers discuss the factors affecting the adoption, implementation and diffusion of programs. In this project, we are developing summary papers that will discuss this in four parts. These four aspects are derived from the broadly based implementation strategies being developed by the International School Health Network in its international School Health Encyclopedia/Knowledge Exchange program. They include:
  • selecting and using an evidence-based implementation model
  • employing local mechanisms and recognizing how local drivers will affect adoption and implementation
  • using systems thinking and recognized education and health system change strategies
