Parents & Parenting
This page provides a description and a sample of a new addition to our school health activities in Canada. Our association will be working with Canadian and international partners to offer an innovative information service for parents that can be embedded and automatically updated on the web sites of local schools (which parents are increasingly visiting for information about their children) as well as other web sites that offer information to parents about healthy child/youth development and schools.
This credible and trustworthy information will be selected or prepared by parent leaders, experts and government ministries from health, education and other fields. The service includes content drawn from a Twitter news/research feed, a shared blog prepared by and from a number of sources, state/provincial sources and the local parents of the school. A sample of what can be embedded in school and other web sites can be found below. The content is provided in the form of an embedded web page with no branding, so that the plain text can fit easily into the "look and feel" of the school web site.
The Canadian Association for School Health is pleased to work with other Canadian organizations in adapting this international program to Canadian schools.
