Here are two comments posted on a page whose content was transferred here.
Are the rates changing in the past few years or are they fairly constant?
ANSWER - THE SUICIDE RATE HAS DECREASED BY ABOUT 30 PERCENT BETWEEN 1995 AND NOW - THERE WAS A LITTLE UPWARDS BLIP IN THE LAST TWO YEARS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DECREASE IN THE USE OF ANTIDEPRESSANT TREATMENTS FOR YOUTH DEPRESSION - AS THE TREATMENTS WENT DOWN THE RATES WENT UP BY THE SAME PROPORTION BUT OVERALL THE RATES HAVE BEEN GOING DOWN SUBSTANTIVALLY)

We think we need to differentiate more clearly the difference bettween menatal disorders (illness),those being diagnosed and mental health problems (challenges). Clarifying the difference early in this article will help the reader understand they are 2 different, though related issues.
